What's Golden

1695865Guess who's back in Golden State? That's right, Chris Webber. 13 years after a dispute with current head coach Don Nelson, Webber was traded, but now is happier than ever to be back where he started his career.

The big question that will arise over this story, is if Webber can still perform at this level, especially with a high paced team such as the Warriors. Despite the fact that this team lacks a big man, they still succeed greatly, and will continue to succeed with or without Webber. I think this is a good move just to add another veteran, but his overall impact will not make a difference in the total wins and losses.

He will be able to play a good 25 minutes a game, average similar numbers to last year, but he is going to need to be in the best shape of his life to pay at the Warriors pace. Based off of his speed last season with the Pistons, by the time Webber makes it up the court, the Warriors would be back on defense after making a basket already. He needs to be effective, and used in short spans of time in order to be most effective in the small ball system. Chris will really help players such as Al Harrington and Andris Biedrins develop into better big men, and his veteran leadership will help this team. Whether or not he will start is still in question, but expect he, Harrinton, and Biedrins to act as a three man rotation at the power forward/center position. Even though the addition of Webber adds depth to this roster, the Warriors will not be greatly affected by the move.
