Favre Calls it Quits...For Now

BrettfavreWe'll always remember those bitter cold days in Green Bay when Brett Favre could still pierce the air with his spirals. We'll always look at those tapes of his famous Lambeau Field leaps into the crowd of cheese heads. And most importantly, we'll always remember how #4 seemed to play each game like it was his last, and never without a smile on his face.

One of the game's greatest QB's of all time decided to hang up his cleats today, but how seriously can we take him? Favre's reasoning, as explained to the newly goateed Chris Mortensen, was that he is "mentally tired". His body is apparently in fine shape, but the day-to-day strain that the game has brought upon him apparently, has caught up. Let's think about this thing logically...it's March 4th, approximately 6 weeks after his NFC Championship implosion against the Giants. Obviously he's tired, and he should be for the next 3 months or so. But come June, when that itch of training camp starts to creep into #4's head, what's going to stop him from grabbing those pair of black Nike's off the wall? According to him, he's not physically tired, and he certainly won't be mentally exhausted in the early days of summer. So for right now...congratulations Brett, after 17 seasons, you deserve the Hall-of-Fame and more. Nonetheless, I put the odds at 3:1 that we see Favre taking snaps for Green Bay come mini camp. As DT Hoops would say: "10 says he shorts it". My response: "20".

So what your saying is that Favre may want to suit up again even though he already retired, like pull a Jordan. I just hope Favre stays retired, he had a spectacular career and he deserves to go out on top.
