I know, lame title right? Come on its Monday afternoon, I've been reduced to copying ridiculous game show names for my blog, big deal! Anyway, I've noticed a trend in the College Basketball sphere recently. A lot of teams are losing games that they'll need to win in a week's time. This in turn, has indicated to me, who will be bounced early when the madness begins.
The Marquette Golden Eagles: Talk about a severely overrated team! Other than one blow out win over Notre Dame, what has this group done? Nothing! Exactly! Since that contest they've lost every meaningful basketball game they've played in: once to Louisville, once at UConn, once to Georgetown, at Notre Dame, and then just two days ago at Syracuse. Head coach Tom Creen is coaching a bunch over over worked and under talented players who will go no where in the tournament. Right now, the all mighty God of Bracketology, Joe Lunardi, has the Golden Eagles sitting pretty with a #5 seed in the South taking on Ohio State in Round 1. Now, I don't like Ohio State either, but if that 5 spot holds true on Selection Sunday, I'm calling this upset before I even see who they'll be playing. Because we all know how the 5-12 goes come March.
More to come in the following days...
