Welcome Back Bobby!

080303bobbymurcerhmed2phmedium

Longtime New York Yankees broadcaster Bobby Murcer made his first appearance of the season yesterday at Yankee Stadium. The beloved broadcaster will be behind the mic for the first time this season when Chien-Ming Wang and the Bronx Bombers take on the Seattle Mariners at 7:05 pm. Murcer was operated on in December 2006 for incurable brain cancer, and since the surgery, Murcer has been undergoing regular MRI scans every other month. In early March of this year, Murcer had a biopsy at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Murcer says he is "cancer-free" and is excited to be back in the YES Network booth. No doubt Yankees fans are also excited to have Bobby back. The former Yankee player has been calling games on TV and on the radio since the late 1980s. His voice is one that many still connect with Yankees baseball. It's good to have you back, Bobby!
